Dipsites Secure First Position in UAE’s Biggest IT Quiz Competition
On 19th April 2014,
Madhur Singal (12 G) and
Madhav Subramanyam (12 H)
proved themselves as the best quizzers in UAE by securing the 1st
Position in one of UAE’s most difficult quizzes, the TCS IT Wiz Quiz
Competition.
With over
726 students participating from all over UAE, the competition wasn’t
an easy one. It consisted of an elimination round comprising of 20
questions out of which the top 6 scoring teams were to qualify for the
Grand Finale. The students achieved a fantastic score of
19/20 in the prelims which
took them to the Grand Finale. The Finale consisted of 5 rounds of
fast-paced quizzing with questions covering everything from the first
calculator to the latest supercomputer.
The students stunned the audience with their outstanding performance as
they answered every question thrown at them. They faced fierce
competition for the other teams, but their lightning fast speed in the
buzzer rounds helped them race to the top of the score card. The boys
were undoubtedly the Tech Champions of UAE.

The two brilliant quizzers were awarded the latest
iPad Air, 1 TB HDD, Hotel
Vouchers and a flight ticket to India to participate in the
International Finals in December 2014. The students were also
awarded goody bags from TCS and a
special certificate signed personally by the CEO of TCS, N.
Chandrasekaran.

Being the biggest IT quiz in the UAE, the quiz was
covered by prominent newspapers like
Khaleej Times, The National
etc. The boys were also interviewed by a
major TV Channel.
